Care assistant, caregiver, carer or live-in carer – several titles are used for the same job, and none of them is protected. They all mean the same thing: you live with the person you care for and support them in their daily life. They do not mean medical nursing care; that remains with Spitex. All vacancies on this page apply throughout Switzerland.

Your tasks as a caregiver

  • Supporting and assisting the person you care for in their everyday life

Who are we looking for? No training required

Whether you are an experienced caregiver, a career changer with a big heart or someone with professional experience in nursing – what matters is empathy, reliability and enjoying working with older people. No formal training is required: many of our caregivers are career changers whom we have trained ourselves. Good German skills and a willingness to provide care while living in the same household are an advantage. We are looking for people for assignments of 5 or 7 days a week.

You live with the person you care for and support them in their everyday life: housekeeping, meals, shopping, walks, company and simply being there, including at night. Medical nursing care is not part of the job – Spitex takes care of that. The title is not protected in Switzerland; the same job is also advertised as caregiver, carer or live-in carer.

Yes. We always have vacancies for caregivers throughout Switzerland because we are continually filling new assignments. Instead of a traditional list of vacancies, we work with applications: you get in touch, we check your availability and language skills, and we suggest suitable assignments.

Yes. Care work – housekeeping, meals, support in everyday life, company – does not require nursing training. Reliability, patience and enjoying working with older people matter more. Medical nursing care is provided by the local Spitex service we work with. If you already have training in nursing or care, you are just as welcome.

What matters is empathy, reliability and enjoying working with older people. Experience in care or nursing is an advantage, as are good German skills. Career changers with a big heart are welcome too.

Yes. People with experience as a nursing assistant or care helper are very welcome. The actual medical nursing care is coordinated with the local Spitex service.

During the assignment, the caregiver lives in the household of the person receiving care and supports them in their everyday life. seniorencare24 ensures careful matching and is there for you with an emergency hotline.
